Tourist routes 'Vive el Valle', a commitment to the economic and sustainable strengthening of Valle del Cauca

Tuluá (Valle del Cauca), August 4, 2022. Transmission, from Grupo Energía Bogotá and the Family Compensation Fund Comfenalco Valle Delagente joined forces to structure and launch the program 'Live the Valley, tourist routes', a bet to strengthen tourism, boost the economy and make the natural, cultural and gastronomic wealth of Valle del Cauca more visible.

The initiative, in which about 430 million pesos were invested, hopes to offer unforgettable experiences through community tourist routes that will travel through the landscapes of the municipalities of Pradera, Palmira, Guacarí, Cartago and Zarzal.

The launch of this program to promote sustainable tourism took place this Thursday, August 4, at the Club La Rivera Recreational and Sports Center. from Tulua. In the activity were the directors of the two organizations that lead and sponsor the program, as well as mayors, businessmen, guides, tourist providers and citizens in general.

The GEB and Comfenalco Valle Delagente seek to motivate the people of the department and the country to explore all the riches that are part of the diversity of Valle del Cauca and contribute to the reactivation of the economy of the inhabitants, so that they have better conditions of well-being with the generation employment, tourism with a gender and sustainable approach, the strengthening of businesses and local enterprises.

This is how 'Vive el Valle, tourist routes' will work 

'Vive el Valle' will invite 500 people to enjoy ecotourism to discover places, paths, waterfalls and all the history that is immersed in the mountains and landscapes of Valle del Cauca.

Felice Grimoldi Rebolledo, general director of Comfenalco Valle Delagente, indicated:

“Through these special guests who will live the experience in the five community tourism routes that will be strengthened with the financial support of Grupo Energía Bogotá, we will tell Colombians and the world that Valle del Cauca, with its multiple tourist strengths and variety of attractions, it is an ideal destination for travelers”, explained Felice Grimoldi Rebolledo, general director of Comfenalco Valle Delagente.

 For his part, Juan Ricardo Ortega, president of GEB, said that the Group's participation in the program is due to its commitment to generate financial and social wealth in the territories where it has operations.

“We are allies of this region where we developed the Southwestern Reinforcement project with our Transmission Branch. We are interested in the development and well-being of the communities that are in the area of influence; that is the essential purpose of GEB's actions. This is the only way the company considers its activities successful, because we are convinced that our growth will be dynamic to the extent that we effectively contribute to social well-being, to improve lives, in the areas where we are present," Ortega said.

Routes of 'Live the Valley'

  1. Ancestral Palmyra Route

Visit the Museum and the archaeological find in a farm in Palmira and be amazed by the history of the Malagan culture; knows more than 220 pieces found underground in rural areas. Delight your palate by tasting the largest puff pastry. Walk the agroecological path on the banks of the Bolo River and enjoy the sweetness of Valle del Cauca while experiencing the preparation of the artisanal manjar blanco, an icon of the region's gastronomy.  

  1. Route Experience of the orgoes and hVideles wetland, in guacari

Admire the colonial architecture and discover the history of the great saman, a tree protected by the inhabitants of Guacarí, which, due to its exemplary conservation, was chosen to be part of the $500 Colombian coin.

Experience the traditional process of transforming cocoa into chocolate and the isabela grape into sweet and semi-sweet wine at the 'El Encanto' farm. Make a stop at the Margot restaurant and enjoy the typical dish and the traditional valluno cold cuts. Connect with nature in the Madre Vieja Videles wetland, a sanctuary of flora and migratory bird watching. Tour this great mirror of water in a boat accompanied by stories narrated by fishermen and experience the weaving of the cast net.  

  1. Ancestral Stone Route Kwet Wala – Meadow

A trip to the past to learn about the roots of the Kwet Wala indigenous culture, a community with more than 200 inhabitants belonging to the Nasa people. Harmonize your energy in the 'Big Stone', an ancestral symbol that represents the spirits or guardians of the territory. Contemplate from its highest point the beautiful landscape of Valle del Cauca. Enjoy the incomparable meadows at the Danube viewpoint and release your energies in the Andean yoga experience at the Zambo house.

  1. Cartago Route, a sun embroidered with history

Cartago, the capital of embroidery, is the point where the Valle del Cauca and coffee cultures meet. Get to know its colonial architecture. On the La Vieja river you can go on a raft to the crystalline waterfall of Los Micos. Tour the Casa del Virrey museum, full of enigmas and which evokes a diverse era in which the opulence of the viceroyalty coexists with the traditions of Valle del Cauca. In this city full of ancestral knowledge you will learn through the embroidering women to make your own memory.  

  1. Zarzal route of yesteryear mountaineering and interactive art
