29 young people from Tuluá and Andalusia graduated in Political Leadership

Jóvenes Andalucía Escuela Liderazgo Juvenil

15 young people from Tuluá and 14 from Andalucía (Valle del Cauca) graduated on July 27 and 28, respectively, from the “Oportunidades Delagente” Youth Leadership School, a project financed and executed by Comfenalco Valle Delagente, which seeks to strengthen the capacities and the political influence of the young leaders of the region.

Thanks to this program, young people from municipalities such as Andalucía and Tuluá have the opportunity to strengthen their advocacy skills in the spaces and processes that directly affect them: education, culture, income generation, health, among others.

Through the training modules, the young leaders were able to deepen their knowledge of the different phenomena of the political system in their territories, the instances of participation and the various institutional and action tools to achieve the transformation of the social problems of the municipality.

After having participated in the Youth Leadership School, students will have the challenge of carrying out a Political Advocacy Plan in each of their cities:

  • The youth of Andalusia will promote youth participation in instances such as the Community Action Boards and the Municipal Youth Council, particularly, to continue contributing to the strengthening of democracy in the rural and urban territory of Andalusia.
  • The youth of Tuluá will seek to generate initiatives for the reconstruction of the social fabric of Tuluá; through an exercise to multiply their knowledge with other young people in rural areas.

"For Comfenalco Valle Delagente, betting on this type of training means continuing to sow seeds of transformation for the social development of the people of Valle del Cauca, having young people as protagonists, engines of change and the reconstruction of the social fabric", indicated Ana Ximena Vallejo , Head of National and International Cooperation Comfenalco Valle Delagente.

During 2022, the Youth Leadership Schools aim to certify 150 young people throughout Valle del Cauca in Advocacy and political leadership, this being a valuable opportunity for more young people in the department to enhance their capacities from the personal to the public to promote social changes in your region.
